The comet or marine betta, Calloplesiops altivelis, is nocturnal and will hide under ledges and in holes by day. They have an eye-like shape on the dorsal fin and when in danger, it will poke its head into a hole and expose its tail end, which mimics the head of a spotted moray eel, Philippines.
