This Pacific angel shark, Squatina californica, has buried itself on a sandy bottom off Santa Barbara Island, California, USA. To complete the camouflage the shark can lay its tail fin flat on the bottom. It’s flat body and huge, wing-like pectoral fins make it look somewhat more like a ray than a shark.
